Names
Every actor, director and writer in the collection has a card of their own. F4, or , opens the list.
The person card
Three tabs. General holds the name, alternative name, birth day, birth year, death year, birthplace, birth country, a rating of your own, a link to a web page and your comments. Biography is free text. Filmography lists that person's films — the ones in your collection are marked, so you can see at a glance what you are missing from a director you like.
Look up details online fills the card from the Internet: biography, dates and photo. As with movies, you can paste the address of the person's page directly and have that page parsed.
Photos
A person can have several photos, not just one. The arrows under the picture step through them; the add button takes a photo from a file or from the clipboard, and Set as main photo chooses the one shown everywhere else. Photos you tagged in movie screenshots show up here as well — see Covers and screenshots.
Block image change protects a photo you chose by hand from being replaced the next time details are fetched from the Internet.
Finding your way around the list

| Sort by | Name, last name, age, rating, or popularity as actor, director or writer — that is, how many films in your collection they are in. Sorting by actor popularity is a good way to discover whose films you actually keep buying. |

| Batch details lookup | Fetches biographies and photos for everybody at once — all persons, the selected ones, or only those with nothing filled in yet. Use with care: if the first search result is wrong, the wrong person is written into the card. |
Duplicates and namesakes
Imports and different sources produce the same person twice, and different people with the same name once. Both are fixable.
- Merge. Select two or more entries that are the same person (hold Ctrl and click), choose Merge selected, and pick the spelling to keep. Every film moves to it.
- Split person. The opposite: one card that is really two people. Choose Split person, tick the films that belong to the other person, give the new person a name, and they are moved to a fresh card.
- Suspicious. The Suspicious (possible namesakes) view lists the cards that look like they might be two people — a starting point for cleaning up a big imported collection.
Where two people genuinely share a name, the lists show the year in brackets after it, so you can tell them apart.
The person list stays loaded between openings, so reopening it is instant. Changes you make to movies are picked up when the list is refreshed.
