How to add a movie
The whole point of the program is that you type the title and nothing else.
- Press Ins, or choose . An empty movie card opens.
- Type the title into the Title field and press Enter. The program queries the online database named in the card.
- If several films match, a window of results opens with posters and years. Double-click yours.
- The card fills in: original title, year, country, studio, genres, director, writers, cast with roles, plot, rating and poster. Correct anything you like and click OK.
Next movie saves the card and opens a fresh one, so a list of titles can be entered without reaching for the mouse.
If the title is not found, try the original title instead of the local one, or switch to another online database — the default source is chosen in . Details in Adding a movie automatically.
Faster ways for a whole collection
- Movies stored as files — scan the drive; the program finds them, works out the titles and looks the details up online.
- Discs on a shelf — scan the barcodes with a webcam or a barcode scanner.
- A disc in the drive right now — Adding a DVD or Blu-ray disc.
- A catalog in another program — Importing a collection.
