Printing
One window does all the printing: the whole collection, the current selection or a single movie card, on paper or into a PDF.
F7, or . For one card only, Ctrl+Alt+P or .
The report window
- Report template — sixteen supplied layouts, from Brief (a compact list that fits a shelf inventory on a few pages) through Compact and Standard to Detailed, Album variants with covers, cover-only sheets and a DVD cover layout. Click one and the preview redraws.
- Preview — the actual pages. The zoom box switches between Fit width and Whole page, and the arrows step through the movies. Only the first few movies are rendered into the preview; the printed report contains everything.
- Current movie only — one card instead of the collection.
- Print…, Save to PDF…, Save to HTML… — the same report, three destinations.
What is printed is what the list currently shows, so a filter or a search is the way to print part of the collection: filter first, then press F7.
PDF export goes through the Windows Microsoft Print to PDF printer, which is part of Windows 10 and later, so no extra software is needed. High-quality images makes covers look better and the file bigger.
If printing or PDF is unavailable
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| The Print Spooler service is not running | Printing and PDF both go through Windows printers. Start the Print
Spooler service in services.msc and try again. |
| Printer “Microsoft Print to PDF” is not available | The feature is missing or switched off in Windows. Turn it on in Windows Features, or print to another PDF printer. |
| Windows could not list the installed printers | Same cause: the spooler or the printer setup. Fix it in Windows. |
| Report templates not found | The reports_html folder next to the program is missing — reinstall. |
Templates of your own
Report templates are HTML files in the reports_html folder, one folder per template. Copy one, edit the HTML, and it appears in the list. That is how to add a company header, change the columns, or make a layout that matches your shelf labels.
Printing and PDF work in every mode, including free mode with a collection over the limit — see Trial, free mode and licence.
